Gojiberry

A.K.A Snowberry,  Wolfberry or Chinese Wolfberry Wolfberries are the bright red fruits of the Duke of Argyll’s tea tree or the matrimony vine thought to have originated in west Asia or eastern Europe but cultivated throught the world. The berries are sweet and have a very pleasant flavour reminiscing corinths though more intense in taste. Fresh berries are excellent for juicing or made into wine, while dried berries are mostly used to brew tea and used in herbal cuisine dishes, soups and broths. Their full red colour is also very decorative. The fruits are particularly noted for their antioxidants, high vitamin C content along with some 30 essential minerals and play an important role in Chinese herbal medicine since the earliest of times. They are prized for their aphrodisiac qualities, and as a remedy for cancer, lung diseases, anti ageing and a host of other sicknesses. Western communities do not accept most of these attributes yet, although human testing of the gojiberry for medicinal purpose is ongoing.
